Polyaspartic is the newer, faster cousin of epoxy: a two-part aliphatic polyurea that cures in hours instead of days, stays clear and colorfast in sunlight, flexes with the slab through Nebraska freeze-thaw, and shrugs off hot tires, road salt, oil and brake fluid. It is what most of the garage floors on this site are built from. Where epoxy needs a day between coats, polyaspartic lets us grind, base-coat, flake and topcoat most garages in a single day and hand the floor back within 48 hours.
Our standard system is a pigmented polyaspartic base coat rolled wet into a diamond-ground profile, Torginol vinyl flake broadcast to refusal, then a clear polyaspartic topcoat, with an anti-slip additive if you want it. Rough or badly pitted slabs get a polyurea base coat first, and a slab that is really far gone gets an epoxy base under the same polyaspartic top. We install Premera, ASTC and Crown Polymers systems, and every coated floor carries a 10-year warranty.

Polyaspartic is an aliphatic polyurea coating: it cures in hours, does not yellow or chalk in sunlight, stays a little flexible so it moves with the slab, and takes hot tires and chemicals at least as well as epoxy. Epoxy is thicker per coat, cheaper per gallon and cures slowly. We use polyaspartic for both base and top on about nine floors in ten, and an epoxy or polyurea base only where a rough slab needs the extra build.
